School district, chamber to present ?Are You Smarter Than A ????

Florence School District 1 and members of the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce’s 2007-2008 Leadership Florence class are joining to present “Are You Smarter Than A ……?” from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium of the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology, located on the campus of Florence Darlington Technical College.

The event, a Leadership Florence fundraiser, is a competition between local fifth-grade students and community leaders, including Jean Leatherman, state Rep. Terry Alexander, Florence 1 superintendent Larry Jackson, Jumana Swindler, Tom Kinard, Dr. Annie Brown, Ben Zeigler, Eleanor Lynch, Larry Waring and Debbie Hyler. It will be emceed by Cecil Chandler of WBTW News13.

All proceeds from the event will be distributed to charitable organizations in the Florence community.
